Mark Amerika is a critically acclaimed artist, novelist and new media theorist who has been referred to as "a digital jack-of-all-trades." Amerika's novels have been published with some of the most well-established literary presses and his innovative artist theories that challenge traditional forms of scholarly writing and production have been published with mainstream academic presses such as MIT Press, the University of Minnesota Press, Stanford University Press, Routledge and the University of Alabama Press. As the Founding Director of the Doctoral Program in Intermedia Art, Writing and Performance in the College of Media, Communication and Information (CMCI) at the University of Colorado, Amerika has successfully eluded most conventional academic contexts.
